Under Linux I get around 3.1Mbps consistently. The fastest download I have
ever achieved was 390K/s and was still climbing when the file transfer was
done. Under Win98/NT, I would only get around 2.6Mbps, until I hacked the
registry. For day to day downloads from various sites though, my download
speed is only around 150K/s ("only"... heh! I'm bitching about that now,
even though at this time last year I was ecstatic if I was getting 6K/s from
my 56K modem... =D ).

As per my problem I briefly mentioned yesterday (or the day before, I can't
remember), does any one have any insight as to why I cannot connect to any
other ADSL machines? BCT is telling me that 1 in 400 subscribers have this
problem. They say that it is a problem with the code in their hardware, but
this has been going on since February, when I first started with the
service.

If anybody has the smallest epiphone as to why this is happening, maybe I
can pass it on these dunderheads at BCTAC. If it matters at all, I subscribe
through Internet Gateway.

| I get close to 3Mbps (>300K/sec). Never see it IRL except when
