The Kenwood True speeds are the best. They are the equivalent to a 75x
CDROM. I just bought an Acer 50x CDROM and a new IBM DeskStar 7200 rpm
drives... installing programs from the 50x as compared to my 20x is like
night and day - and it's REALLY quiet too..... just a nice "Woosh" as it
spins up... it cost me $65 only... so, you can get an older20x, 24x or 30x
probably pretty cheap.

The cheapest I have found the Kenwood True 52x for is $150...
