Not quite, wholesale pricesd on ram have been going up slowly since late
july, its only since the earthquake thats it really made a big jump
many of the ram fabs as of 2 days ago still didn't have power to run their
equip, other than backup generators which last maybe 2 or 3 days.
plus with some of the ovens that the chips are baked in, if they cool down
due to lack of power, it can take up to a week plus to get them running
again, plus the oven manufacturer has to send a tech team out to get it back
online...
plus relatively speaking, ram is dirt cheap even with the higher prices,
remember $50/mb? not so long ago....
