hi all
i've got a linux box humming in my closet, and all i want for christmas is
a lousy ftp server running with real and guest users but no anon.
i've read a bunch of info in the last two days about WU-ftpd, including
Michael Brennen's how-to on implementing guest users with WU. I followed
this, and my current hang-up is that Brennen is somewhat vague
(cross-platform, whatever) about how to go about giving the new root access
to the 'ls' function. Brennon suggests several possible ways of doing this
briefly, but none are specific or certain.
about a mont ago I had ProFTPD working with a guest user and folder
restrictions, but there were performance stability issues...
i'm sure this line of questioning has already caused the more experienced
out there to roll eyes at high speed, but i'd really appreciate it if
someone could provide or point me to some linux-specific documentation on
how to do this.
all i'm really trying to do is protect myself from my friends' friends.
thanks,
fF3j
