Hi all. I am about to begin an exercise in traditional hacking. :-) I
need to update a large amount of data in a mainframe computer and
rather than doing it one entry at a time at the console I am hoping to
dump the database onto tape and then hex-edit it on a Linux
workstation. The only storage format available to me is QIC-02, which
is the obsolete large-format tape cassettes. I don't know what
filesystem the tapes contain but figure I can just 'dd' the whole tape
as one binary file and hack it that way (as long as none of the files
need to change size).

Does anyone have one of these drives in their junk box they could
donate (temporarily) to the effort? I already have the SCSI card.

Thanks,
cprasley@home.com
