Not necessarily with 2.4.0, but ssh will do this if you're experiencing
periodic packet loss. In particular, the session you're working in will
appear to freeze for a time while it tries to get back in sync. Non-active
sessions won't be affected.
Try leaving a ping running, see if you're seeing packet loss to the machine
when the problem occurs.
