Failed kernel upgrade

Hi,

 I have RH 6.2 with a 3com 905btx, the kernel is: 2.2.14

 I upgraded the kernel to 2.2.16 with rpm -Fvh ....

 Now, I seem to have lost the network. ifconfig eth0
 just reports: local loopback 127.0.0.1

 ifconfig eth0 up: ==> No such device

 What am I missing?
