I'm quoting only 1048 chars and 171 words of it :))

I used the SuSe 6.3 distro when I've switched to telus ADSL
a year ago, and it worked right away, without whatchig out
for anyt gotchas or fiddling with files.
During setup I clicked on ADSL for internet connection type.
That's all.
To the original poster: if you get tired of fiddling with Red Hat 6.2.
Install the SuSe distro, it uses RPM also, but it's a lot smarter.
