If you have a static IP, then why are you configuring your network
connection to use DHCP? Just make a note of your IP address, the netmask,
etc., in Windows using the program 'winipcfg' and configure your network
statically. It might help if you let us know what distribution you are
using, so we could point you to some handy tools that will help you on your
way.
