I fell for the Telus "QuickConnect" (install-it-yourself) package
a few weeks back. Phoned Telus, was told I'd have a port in seven
days.
On the seventh and eighth days got rather more emotionally involved
with dhcpd config stuff, /dev/eth0, etc. than I'd expected to.
Finally phoned Telus tech help, asking, "Is it me, or is it you?"
It was them -- they'd inadvertently not set up a port for me.
Embarrassment, apologies, promises that I'd be set up in two
more days.
Two days later I was connected and (so far) have lived happily
ever after.
