Has anyone sucessfully upgraded their rh7.0 system to a 2.4.x kernel?
Every time i try to run a 2.4.x kernel that i've compiled:
a) when mounting some non-ext2 filesystems, it complains of bad major or
minor numbers.
b) /dev/lp0 "doesn't work"
c) /dev/mouse doesn't get linked properly to /dev/psaux properly.
I've tried the redhat 2.4.x kernel RPMs from the rawhide section of the
redhat ftp site, and they work fine, but I can't figure out how to pass
options to the sb module, so my soundcard doesn't work. Everything else
works fine, though.
I'd like to run my own compiled kernel. Has anyone done this?
thanks,
mike
