I would like to ask for some expert Unix advice.

df reports of disk space usage is a lot more than what du reports. What could
be the possible causes and possible solutions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Yes. I've scoured the internet and the only solution I've read about is
to reboot. I believe this is a Windows solution, not a Unix one. Thank you.
