Personally I've had better luck using cdrdao than cdrecord when dealing
with audio files. I haven't spent enough time on it to figure out why
that might be.

One of the nicer things about cdrdao is that it allows you to avoid the
2 second gaps between tracks, which of course breaks the standard, but
allows you to mix from one track to the next without having to create
one giant track. Simple CDR X is a nice audio CD tool.

BTW, if you use the above cdrecord command I think you will want to
change the -data switch in the cdrecord command to -audio.
