Hi, all.

Over 130 people turned out for the VanLUG meeting tonight: a new
record!

Thanks to Richard Pitt and Brian Edmonds for excellent presentations,
Bill Gillespie for moderating the roundtable discussion, Kim Kulak for
running the prize draw, and Steve Roy and Ken Moren for processing
membership cards. Special thanks to Centurion Services, Linux Journal,
and Ya'akov Miles for donating the prizes.

Our next monthly meeting will be held on Monday, February 15, 1998 in
the CICSR building at UBC. The theme of the meeting will be "How to
Choose and Set Up a UPS to Protect Your Linux System". Our featured
speaker will be Neal Hayden from Best Power (Vancouver, WA). Jan Walter
and Jeff Alami will follow up with a short presentation and
demonstration on setting up Linux to work with a UPS.
