More details on these special interest groups (SIGs) will follow from
Dave, but it was decided at the steering committee meeting tonight that
two new SIGs should be created.
First is the Public Relations SIG, which will look after development and
maintenance of the VanLUG website, brochures, etc. The SIG mailing list
is is vanlug-pr@gweep.bc.ca. Like the main VanLUG list, the list is also
bidirectionally gated to the vanlug.sig.public-relatns newsgroup on the
news.gweep.bc.ca server, and soon on the other VanLUG news sites.
Second is the Installfest SIG, which will look after coordinating future
Installfests and related public education and advocacy events. The SIG
mailing list is vanlug-ifest@gweep.bc.ca, and again the newsgroup on the
news.gweep.bc.ca server is vanlug.sig.installfest.
If you have an interest in either or both of these areas, and especially
if you'd like to get more involved with the group in these ways, please
do subscribe to the respective list or newsgroup. For mailing list
subscription information for any list hosted at gweep.bc.ca, simply send
mail to the address formed by appending -request to the list name. Thus
the list info addresses for the above lists are
vanlug-pr-request@gweep.bc.ca and
vanlug-ifest-request@gweep.bc.ca
respectively.
