Hi, all.
Are you interested in giving a 40-minute presentation concerning a
Linux-related topic of your choice to (1) VanLUG - at a monthly meeting
or, perhaps, (2) an external group such as the Independent Computer
Consultants Association of BC or the Vancouver PC Users Society?
Although you should obviously have enough knowledge and experience in
the area about which you plan to speak that you can easily answer
questions posed to you, be aware that preparing such a presentation
isn't necessarily an easy task. Expect to spend several hours
organizing your thoughts, consulting references, and preparing your
overhead transparencies or other visual aids. However, giving such a
presentation is a great way to make a contribution to the group and
share your knowledge and experience with others.
The best presentations will more than likely describe a problem that you
or your colleagues ran into and how you solved it using Linux, UNIX, or
Open Source software. Even tutorial presentations or product reviews
are probably best framed in this manner, e.g., How (or how well) does
the software or product solve a problem of concern to the user?
Anyway, please let me know.
Also, if you would like to hear a presentation on a particular topic,
please let me know that, too, and I'll try to find an appropriate
speaker.
Thanks.
