(The International Conference on Communications (ICC) is the world's
premier communications conference.)
ICC'99 Volunteer Recruitment
We're looking for volunteers to help with ICC'99 in June. You can help
for as many (or as few) days as you wish. However, the more days you
help, the more of the conference you'll see.
In return for helping out with a number of tasks important to the smooth
running of the conference, the IEEE will show its appreciation by:
1. Giving you a good quality golf shirt that we hope you will wear
through your volunteer assignment.
2. Inviting you to enjoy refreshments with the other attendees each
morning and afternoon.
3. Giving you an hour off to go out and have a good lunch. We'll
reimburse you for lunch and for parking at the VTCC so keep your
receipts.
4. Trying to arrange it so that you can attend some of the sessions at
least part time if you choose to do so.
Volunteer Assignments:
*Assistance with Pre-Registration (Checking people in and giving them
their registration packages and conference records. Actual registrations
are handled by paid staff.)
*Set-up and Take-down (Assisting exhibitors and organizers with set-up
of booths, handling of conference materials etc. on Sunday and taking
them down on Thursday)
*Message Centre Assistance (Helping people with directions, answering
the message telephone, assistance with copying, and general help to
delegates)
*Hospitality Room (attending the hospitality room, greeting attendees'
partners and helping them with arrangements and making them feel
comfortable. Beverages and snacks are provided in the hospitality room.)
*Room Monitors (Check out audio/visual equipment, assist session
chairs/speakers with set-up, distribute hand-outs and session feedback
forms and check attendees at the door.)

1. Please enter the hours you would be available each day.
2. All shifts are due to start at 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM and finish around 5:00 to 5:30 PM. However if you are able to give part of a day, please indicate.
3. ICC'99 is looking for 7 to 8 volunteers per day except on Friday when only 2 or 3 are required.

We will try to rotate assignments as possible to give you a change or to allow you to attend conference sessions.
