It's a paint program! It's a photo manipulation program! It's an image
format conversion program! No, it's the GIMP! Ben Holt, an experienced
multimedia designer and Vancouver Film School alumnus will show why the
GIMP has become a killer app for anyone who deals with images.

8:20 - 9:00 The New Linux Distributions - Red Hat 6.0,
SuSE 6.1, and Open Linux 2.2
- Brian Bray, Minoru Development Corp.
If it's spring, the new Linux distributions must be out! How do they
stack up? Brian Bray, a long time UNIX enthusiast and professional
software developer, will moderate a panel discussion which seeks to
determine whether the distributions are converging and which one is
best for specific purposes.

Our meetings generally attract between 75 and 125 people. Attendees
range from absolute newcomers to UNIX wizards. VanLUG is committed to
helping newcomers get up to speed.
Admission is free to all. VanLUG discount cards will be available at

$2 each.
