Hi, all. I just finished chatting with Wilson Lee, Channel Marketing
Manager at Caldera Systems.
First, he and Mark Withers will be the two Caldera representatives at
the next VanLUG meeting (Mon, Jul 19). They'll speak for about 10-15
minutes on Caldera's product strategy, company direction, partners
program, etc., then have a Q&A session about these issues with the group
for 15-20 minutes. Then, we'll turn the floor over to Garth and Kevin
from Stormix for the remaining hour.
Second, Caldera would like to invite VanLUG members to attend a cocktail
reception the following night (Tue, Jul 20). (Details regarding time and
place to follow.) The event will feature an **open bar** (including
food) and lots of Linux systems up and running for demos. You must be a
registered VanLUG member to attend (if you haven't done so already,
please fill out the form at http://www.linux.bc.ca/ to qualify), but
there is absolutely no charge to attend.
Caldera needs to know how many people are going to attend, so you
**must** RSVP to me by next Monday morning. They've set a cap of 100
people so that the venue won't be overly crowded. So, please sign up
ASAP after I pass on the details regarding exact time and place.
I hope having two events back to back like this won't be too much of a
strain on people's time. We're hoping for a good turnout.
